Ph.D. program in Economics, Analytics and Decision Sciences
IMT School for Advanced Studies (Lucca, Italy)
We accept applications for the 2022/23 Ph.D. program in Economics, Analytics and Decision Sciences (EADS) at the IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca (www.imtlucca.it/en ). IMT is one of the six Schools of Excellence in Italy, that provides rigorous training and close supervision in a variety of disciplines in the social, human and natural sciences, welcoming multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches at their boundaries.
During their doctoral studies, students are encouraged to carry out research within the broad range of expertise of the School’s Research Units. EADS students also have the opportunity of completing their research projects under joint supervision (double-degree) with partner universities, including KU Leuven and the University of Alicante. All students are encouraged to spend periods abroad, both within the Erasmus+ framework and through ad-hoc mobility agreements, taking advantage of strong ties with selected companies and international institutions. IMT is also open to offering joint supervision with other universities for selected students and considering more structured double-degree agreements.
IMT is a truly international environment with students from around the world. English is the official language of the School. Students are entitled to free room and board in our campus located in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan city Lucca. Research scholarships amount to €16,243/year for up to four years, with the possibility of graduating after the third year. Our former students continue their careers at top research universities, policy-making institutions, and companies.
